Blount Method in the Management of Supracondylar Fractures of the Humerus in Children

Supracondylar fractures of the humerus are most common traumatic elbow injury in children. Several techniques described their support. Blount’s method is one widely used orthopedic means. The objective our study was to evaluate results supracondylar treated by this department. This a descriptive, longitudinal with prospective collection over period 12 months from May 2018 April 2019. It focused on children aged 0 15 years Orthopedic Traumatology Department CHU Kati for fracture extension. A minimum follow-up 6 necessary inclusion. patients were collected. sociodemographic, anatomopathologic, therapeutic and evolutionary aspects studied. evaluated according Flynn’s criteria. male sex predominant ratio 2. average age 5.5 years. admission time 12.5 hours. Domestic accidents main etiology (66.66%) Type II frequent 58.33%. duration immobilization 42 days 11 patients. Complications 1 case secondary displacement 12&#730 flexion deficit. Baumann angle 72&#730. result satisfactory all children, especially boys. Blount when it well carried out respecting indications gives good results.
